Welcome to Calla in Motion! The idea for the site came at a time when my personal, professional and spiritual lives were completely out of balance.  The first part of my life was spent training as an athlete working my way up to a Division I lacrosse program where I had a dream I injured my knee and a week later fell on the field with an ACL tear.  That was the end of my athletic career so I moved to New York City to pursue a career in fashion/entertainment.  I lived in New York City for 8 years and had accomplished a lot of really amazing career milestones that I had set for myself.  The problem?  I was waking up in the middle of the night yelling and gasping for air, a type of night terror brought on by severe anxiety.  I had a career on camera but my skin was tired, my under-eyes sunken into my face and my energy level had plummeted.  I barely had time to exercise and counted all of the running in heels from meeting to meeting as cardio and refused to do yoga because I didn't have time to be still and breathe.  I surrounded myself with negative people and hit a point where I questioned everything.  New York was supposed to be the center of the universe and true happiness only was found in the wild ambition and notoriety you can achieve there.  How wrong that is!  What I realized was life is about balance and happiness is a state of mind that you set for yourself.  I left the 'dream life' in New York City behind and spent time with family and spent quite a bit of time in New Orleans, a place that always had this magic pull on me.  This is the moment when yoga found me.  The slower pace of life had allowed me to find myself again.  The old athlete came back out and I felt like my true self again and following my intuition had led me on a path to be creatively recharged.  Through yoga, my anxiety disappeared.  I became aware of everything I surround myself with from beauty products, to food, to people and wanted to create a place to share my journey with you.  I want the site to radiate a calm energy and inspire people to live a life in motion, to live a life that leads with wellness instead of ego, from yoga to fitness to style to active travel.  I welcome you to the site and can't wait share this journey together.  The deepest part of me acknowledges the deepest part of you.

If you're interested in more of my professional journey here's my bio below:

Television host, blogger and style expert, Lindsey Calla, has made big waves online being one of the first bloggers to cross over into television and traditional media. In 2011 and 2012 she served as national spokesperson for a national clothing store, appearing in their television commercials, in-store signage and social media strategy.  That led into many appearances hosting the TBS show ‘Trends with Benefits’, a 3 part MTV commercial for Pac Sun during the VMAs, co-hosting an hour of Good Day New York with Greg Kelly and a coveted spot hosting a style show on Marie Claire’s You Tube network, Hello Style. For the past two years she has served as the fashion expert and host for Yahoo’s awards show coverage and proved to be their style authority on what’s hot on the celebrity red carpet. Being an athlete for most of her life as a Division I lacrosse player and captain of all her sport’s teams, she naturally branched out into covering sports and fitness. In the Fall of 2013 Lindsey was chosen to be in the NFL apparel commercial and has worked closely with mega fitness brands such as adidas and Athleta. She was most recently involved in a global campaign for adidas Running marking the first time the brand had ever used influencers in a campaign alongside athletes and continues to work with adidas women as one of their creators.

She has been profiled in media outlets such as The New York Times, Better Homes and Gardens, People Style Watch, Philadelphia Magazine and Seventeen Magazine. She has worked with brands on large campaigns for prestigious brands such as adidas, BCA Campaign, the NFL, Barney's New York, and The Woolmark Company.

Lindsey started her career in the fashion department of Cosmopolitan Magazine where she ended up in a 3 page feature showcasing her style on a budget that proved to be one of the highest front of book pages to that date. From that idea and success, she left the print world and launched her successful blog, Calla in Motion.  In her early tv career, she traveled the country appearing as a style expert on Live Well HD, NBC New York, FOX Boston, and CW Denver.

Lindsey was born outside of Philadelphia (the Jersey side) and then went on to study International Affairs and Art History at Lafayette College and now splits her time between New York City and New Orleans.
