Happy Monday!  Just a few more snaps from our time in Oualidia and La Sultana.  A long sleeve romper with booties was best for the mix of resort style and chilly temperatures.  The nice staff at the hotel came every night to make us a fire in our rooms and I SO wish I had a fireplace in my apartment rather than the ultra drying heat system.  I could notice a huge difference in my skin.

I've been gone from Morocco for days now but the magic of this place is still fresh in my mind.  Hoping to get back to this beautiful country in the near future!

Not only does La Sultana have a very relaxing pool but it also boasts and incredible spa which I took full advantage of during our stay.  There is a breathtaking pool area that is open air in the warmer months and the archway leads right into the spa and steam rooms.  I chose to get a massage with the native argan oil and amber essence (which you can get with 2 OR 4 hands!) and a manicure that left my hands soft for days.  They use argan oil in almost everything here from cooking to cosmetics and my skin felt incredible, my complexion was flawless, and the Northeast winter dryness I had was momentarily gone.  I have really dry skin naturally so the oil really sinks in and does wonders for me.

This dress really needed to have a moment in Morocco and it has a very zen feel to it which fit the vibe of this place perfectly.  I wore it to our first lunch and then slipped on some sandals while exploring the rest of the beach and property.   And I think the clutch speaks for itself... It was one of the first things I put into my suitcase!

The second stop on our Moroccan tour was a coastal town south of Casablanca called Oualidia.  It's been referenced as the St. Tropez of Morocco and it did not disappoint in beauty or charm.  We stayed at the most enchanting hotel called La Sultana, an 11 room luxury villa along the lagoon that has an incredible spa and even more incredible architecture and design.  I fell in love exploring every corner of this place and when the sun came out I made sure to spend some much needed time down by the pool.  Driving through the Moroccan countryside was such an experience and I'm so glad that we were able to see a piece of Morocco that is off the beaten path a bit, however I feel like those that know Oualidia and La Sultana would agree that making a stop here should be high on anyone's list.

The weather was a little fickle so I wore my flowy pants to keep warm and when the sun peeked out I would find a spot along the chairs that was protected by the wind and soak up the last bits of sun before I jet back to winter... *shivers*.

I have tons more pictures to share from here.. Can't wait to show you more of the experience!

This was one of my favorite spots that we toured in Casablanca.  It's the main mosque and actually one of the largest in the world (according to our amazing guide, Hassan!).  It's not that old of a structure but the architecture still has all of the breathtaking arches and ancestral details and really captures the wonder of the culture.  I didn't get to go in because we stopped along the way home and I wasn't properly covered.  We are thankful to be here as guests of the Morocco Tourism Board, and to check out Casablanca Fashion Week, and everyone has been so gracious here!

I picked up these booties in the local Casablanca Zara because I couldn't the right tan pair at home in time for the trip.  It's the perfect balance between a heel and a flat and is great for their climate right now.  Finding room in my suitcase for them (and the over-the-knee boots I bought here) will prove difficult but definitely worth it.

So much more to share! I feel like I have pictures for days from here and Oualidia! <3

*For those looking for controversy, I did not go to the mosque in shorts.  I'm well aware of the cultural significance which is why you see no pictures of the inside.   This is what I wore touring part of the city.  Please no comments about "why I wore shorts to a mosque".  It's simply a beautiful backdrop as we passed by and I'm pointing out its beauty.  Thanks!

Dress: Trina Turk, Shoes: Sole Society, Ring: Sorrelli

Greetings from another day in Casablanca!  It was so much fun packing for this trip.  I really wanted to find things that brought in elements of this region without being too thematic.  It's a complete obsession of mine to pull together a wardrobe for a travel adventure.  I noticed a ton of tassels at the markets so it was fun to incorporate that spirit into my outfit!  This dress has so many exquisite details that make it distinct but also keep it very classic (Neutral! Long sleeves! Brilliant texture!).. I definitely wanted to mix it with a more affordable shoe and this pair just looks so rich.

Casablanca is so unique and has a vibrant resort vibe that puts me right at home by mixing the city and the ocean.  I can easily switch from a flowy maxi to a more polished look without even missing a beat and that is something I love because then I don't have to choose if I'm a city girl or a beach bum ;-).
