The Other Side

Lindsey Calla

Ski Outfit: c/o Roxy, Sweater & Beanie: American Eagle, Goggles: Smith

For most people reading they probably think that it's so odd for a girl who dresses up in really feminine outfits every single day to try to fit into the sports world, but for me it's probably where I feel most comfortable.  I played Division I lacrosse and sports has always been a big influence in my life and I'm actually a pretty big tomboy.  To be asked to cover the style aspect of the X Games was pretty much my dream opportunity and to do it with such an awesome group of guy bloggers made the trip even more awesome.  The X Games added style, film, and music to their events this year and it was a full-fledged lifestyle experience.  We were even interviewed on ESPN about our time there which you can check out HERE.  Finally, something the boys in my family can really relate to on my blog ;-)

Here's a cool video I put together from the trip!  Everyone keeps talking about this Vine app but I used one called Montaj and it's pretty sweet so far.  I have a bunch more photos from the Games that I'll share over the week. xx

This weekend in Aspen was one of the best weekends I've had in a long time.  To be out on the slopes watching the X Games with an amazing group of people felt so refreshing!  I have SO much to share from the Games but here's a peek at some of the things I wore around town.  Aspen is one of those fabulous places where you don't have to really care because it's a ski town but yet it's so chic that you want to deck yourself in furry accessories and do the whole apres-ski thing to the nines.

Also, don't forget to enter the Ippolita contest to win a teardrop necklace and check out our super cute short film (Click here to enter and watch)!  Here are a few behind the scenes shots from the shoot.

Dress: BCBGMAZXAZRIA (here, but I found mine in-store 60% w an extra 5% because I bought something else), Shoes: Jimmy Choo (also found ridic cheap at Saks) Good sales on!

Happy New Year!  Hope everyone had an amazing night!  New Orleans was fantastic as always.. a little too cold for my liking but fantastic none the less.  I brought down a few outfit options and ended up hitting the mega sales at BCBG and Saks to find a new NYE outfit only to end up wearing this dress in the end.  But mark my words, this white dress will have the moment it deserves somewhere and sometime in the near future!  I attended a beautiful party at Bellocq in the Hotel Modern (the best whiskey cobblers in town) and spent time with some amazing friends!  I loved the decor so much that I just had to share some snaps. xo

Welcome to Germany

Happy Monday!  I'm writing this from my New York apartment trying to nurse my European hangover, especially as I post these pictures from Germany.  We were ONE DAY too early for the Christmas was so tragic!  But at least they were set up so I could still capture the spirit.  Something about wandering Frankfurt made me want to wear a furry headband and this kind of jacket, which I picked up last minute at the Madrid Zara.  Something about it said, "Wear me in Germany against the cute houses", obviously, me and my credit card listened while pretending that the total in Euros was equal to dollars.  It's a fun game to play when you're shopping abroad.  :-P

Happy Thanksgiving!  It's strange to be in Europe today when everyone else is carrying on like it's any other Thursday but it is so lovely here and I'm enjoying every moment.  Hope everyone is having a fabulous turkey day and I'm so thankful for each and every one of you!

This dress had European splendor written all over it and you can't beat sequins for $100.  I can also see this dress transitioning well into the holiday season.   I picked up these boots at the Casablanca Zara and they've been a great addition to my traveling wardrobe.  As I've said before, I have no idea how I'm getting all of this stuff home...

Off to Germany this weekend!  More soon... Besos

Back in Spain for a bit!  I love it so much here.. This is in Toledo where I took tons more pictures and didn't realize the manual focus was on so all of them are too fuzzy to post.. total blogger fail.  But this is one of my favorite pictures from the bunch anyway because there's so much focus on the architecture.  I'm trying to get inspired for an upcoming project and I can't think of a better place than Spain!  More soon...

Last Resort

Romper: BCBGeneration, Shoes: Zara, Bag: Market find from Morocco

Happy Monday!  Just a few more snaps from our time in Oualidia and La Sultana.  A long sleeve romper with booties was best for the mix of resort style and chilly temperatures.  The nice staff at the hotel came every night to make us a fire in our rooms and I SO wish I had a fireplace in my apartment rather than the ultra drying heat system.  I could notice a huge difference in my skin.

I've been gone from Morocco for days now but the magic of this place is still fresh in my mind.  Hoping to get back to this beautiful country in the near future!

La Sultana

Dress: T Bags, Clutch: Gypsy 05, Shoes: Zara

Not only does La Sultana have a very relaxing pool but it also boasts and incredible spa which I took full advantage of during our stay.  There is a breathtaking pool area that is open air in the warmer months and the archway leads right into the spa and steam rooms.  I chose to get a massage with the native argan oil and amber essence (which you can get with 2 OR 4 hands!) and a manicure that left my hands soft for days.  They use argan oil in almost everything here from cooking to cosmetics and my skin felt incredible, my complexion was flawless, and the Northeast winter dryness I had was momentarily gone.  I have really dry skin naturally so the oil really sinks in and does wonders for me.

This dress really needed to have a moment in Morocco and it has a very zen feel to it which fit the vibe of this place perfectly.  I wore it to our first lunch and then slipped on some sandals while exploring the rest of the beach and property.   And I think the clutch speaks for itself... It was one of the first things I put into my suitcase!

Pants: BCBGeneration, Swim top: Chloe via Century 21 (for $90!) (in white), Shoes: Madewell (old but similar)

The second stop on our Moroccan tour was a coastal town south of Casablanca called Oualidia.  It's been referenced as the St. Tropez of Morocco and it did not disappoint in beauty or charm.  We stayed at the most enchanting hotel called La Sultana, an 11 room luxury villa along the lagoon that has an incredible spa and even more incredible architecture and design.  I fell in love exploring every corner of this place and when the sun came out I made sure to spend some much needed time down by the pool.  Driving through the Moroccan countryside was such an experience and I'm so glad that we were able to see a piece of Morocco that is off the beaten path a bit, however I feel like those that know Oualidia and La Sultana would agree that making a stop here should be high on anyone's list.

The weather was a little fickle so I wore my flowy pants to keep warm and when the sun peeked out I would find a spot along the chairs that was protected by the wind and soak up the last bits of sun before I jet back to winter... *shivers*.

I have tons more pictures to share from here.. Can't wait to show you more of the experience!

Arches of Kings

Lindsey Calla

Blouse: Asos, Shorts: Cameo (similar, similar), Booties: Zara, Bag: market find in Casablanca, Earrings: C Wonder

This was one of my favorite spots that we toured in Casablanca.  It's the main mosque and actually one of the largest in the world (according to our amazing guide, Hassan!).  It's not that old of a structure but the architecture still has all of the breathtaking arches and ancestral details and really captures the wonder of the culture.  I didn't get to go in because we stopped along the way home and I wasn't properly covered.  We are thankful to be here as guests of the Morocco Tourism Board, and to check out Casablanca Fashion Week, and everyone has been so gracious here!

I picked up these booties in the local Casablanca Zara because I couldn't the right tan pair at home in time for the trip.  It's the perfect balance between a heel and a flat and is great for their climate right now.  Finding room in my suitcase for them (and the over-the-knee boots I bought here) will prove difficult but definitely worth it.

So much more to share! I feel like I have pictures for days from here and Oualidia! <3

*For those looking for controversy, I did not go to the mosque in shorts.  I'm well aware of the cultural significance which is why you see no pictures of the inside.   This is what I wore touring part of the city.  Please no comments about "why I wore shorts to a mosque".  It's simply a beautiful backdrop as we passed by and I'm pointing out its beauty.  Thanks!

Glossie Getaways: Casablanca

Dress: Trina Turk, Shoes: Sole Society, Ring: Sorrelli

Greetings from another day in Casablanca!  It was so much fun packing for this trip.  I really wanted to find things that brought in elements of this region without being too thematic.  It's a complete obsession of mine to pull together a wardrobe for a travel adventure.  I noticed a ton of tassels at the markets so it was fun to incorporate that spirit into my outfit!  This dress has so many exquisite details that make it distinct but also keep it very classic (Neutral! Long sleeves! Brilliant texture!).. I definitely wanted to mix it with a more affordable shoe and this pair just looks so rich.

Casablanca is so unique and has a vibrant resort vibe that puts me right at home by mixing the city and the ocean.  I can easily switch from a flowy maxi to a more polished look without even missing a beat and that is something I love because then I don't have to choose if I'm a city girl or a beach bum ;-).

Moments in Spain, Part II

A bit repetitive but I had so many gorgeous pics from the trip that I just had to share!  It's also been rainy and cold in New York so my mind has been frequently wandering back to Spain.  Hope you enjoy! I was so sad to leave Madrid today!  I had such an amazing weekend in a beautiful city that treated me very well.  I think I fit right into the Spanish lifestyle.  This was what I wore on a little tour around the shopping district.. The light is so beautiful here and we managed to catch the last few rays of the day.

Hope to see you at the StyleCaster State of Style Summit this Thursday! x

Dress: Aritzia (this is summer color but they carry this shape over from season to season) (similar, similar, similar), Shoes: Madewell, Bag: Cynthia Vincent, Sunnies: Laila Rowe

Hey everyone!   I heard a day trip to Segovia is a must when you are visiting Madrid so we hopped on a quick 30 minute train ride through the Spanish countryside to see what all of the fuss is about.  Legend has it that Cinderella's Castle took some design inspiration from here so imagine my excitement.  It's very much a fairytale place and the art history freak in me came out big time.  I have so many more pictures to share so I think I'll break them up into a few posts!  In terms of my "tourist" outfit I went for this peachy Aritzia dress because it was cool, comfortable, cute and could take me from day to night with the switch of a few accessories.  That's always an important thing to consider when packing!

Beach Scallops

Bikini: Chloe via Century 21, Jacket: Zara, Sunnies: Joe Fresh, Necklace: gift from Wyoming from sister-in-law, Bracelets: Jessie Lane

Happy weekend!  I've been dying to shoot this bikini all summer.  I found 2 Chloe scalloped bikinis at Century 21 for $100 each (originally $350+) and nearly flipped when I saw them hanging on the racks in my size.  This white one feels very "bond girl" to me.  I'm also a big fan of chiffon moto jackets because there's just the right amount of edge but still soft enough to fit in with the rest of my wardrobe.

And I just love this time of night at the beach.. the light changes almost by the minute!  I really needed to get out of the city after this week and clear my head and there is no better place to go than this beach.
