Glossie Tresses: How-To Do The Wave

Lindsey Calla

You asked for it!  I asked Staci Child, the fabulous hair stylist who gave me this style on a recent video shoot, for a step by step on how to recreate those glamorous, loose waves.  Good luck and have fun recreating!  Feel free to upload your final look on my Facebook page!

What you need: Redken Rootful, 1" curling iron, and a wide tooth comb

Step 1: Blow dry Redken Rootful throughout the length of your hair to create hold and texture

Step 2: Section your hair into 1" sections. Starting at the root, hold the 1" curling iron upside down and gently wrap hair around the barrel starting towards the base of the iron and wrap down towards the end.  *Tip:  To avoid creasing, don't clamp down on the hair Step 3: Continue throughout your whole head and finish off with hairspray (Staci recommends Redken 12).  Your curls will look tight and very "done".

Step 4: To soften them, comb gently through the curls with your wide tooth comb.

Et Voila!  Soft waves with tons of body! Here's a cheat sheet for all you pinners, tumblers, etc, etc.
