Building on this week's theme of fully enjoying the season, fall mornings really should be spent outside. I've started to try to build a healthy routine of rising with the sun and taking those few moments of uninterrupted quiet to myself. I brought back the most delicious lavender honey from a market in Gordes, France, and have been obsessed with adding it to my tea and then diving into Peter Mayle's A Year in Provence. It's those little escapes and thoughts of adventure before I start the reality of the day. A brisk breeze usually accompanies me, even sometimes on days in New Orleans when that pesky jet stream starts to creep down to our tropical paradise. Since I wouldn't dare be on my balcony in a true robe I think it's necessary to keep a balcony coat nearby for those mornings. I like the classic grid pattern on this EXPRESS robe-like coat and it's as simple as a pair of leggings and a slouchy sweater to be fully relaxed but still polished enough to feel like I'm up and starting my day.
