Happy Fitness Friday! Tried to get this up earlier but my site crashed and was hacked into :( I can't even remember the last time I hula hooped. I probably was still wearing Umbros and jamming to Ace of Base, and I never thought I would find a reason to pick the activity back up in my adult life. That is, of course, until I found the weighted hula hoop! It's not just for whittling your waist with just standard hooping. There are a ton of exercises you can do and have a bit of fun at the same time!
Jacks With Overhead Press - Stand with feet together, knees slightly bent. HOld the hoop around you at the shoulder level, hands positioned at 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock, palms facing up and with weight evenly balanced - Press the hoop overhead and jump your feet out. Jump feet back in as you bring the hoop back down, repeating slow for 4-6 reps then increase tempo for 12-15 reps
Cross Chop with Lunges - Stand with feet shoulder width apart, knees slightly bent. Step to the right into a lunge while twisting your torso. Return to start. Repeat on the left side.
Squat With Overhead Press - Stand with feet shoulder width apart, knees slightly bent. Hold the hoop straight out in front, hands positioned at 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock, with weight evenly balanced - Lover the hoop toward the floor as you squat pushing your hips back. Return to standing as you lift the hoop overhead
