Dress: Bowie (gifted), Shoes: Zara

My flight was delayed last night so I didn't get in until 3am and I'm still working on getting my energy back. I sort of have this look on my face that reads: "It's hot, I'm tired, stop taking my picture".

This lovely dress was a gift from Bowie all the way from Sydney.  I visited his showroom while I was there and fell in love with this dress, which at the time was unfinished and just a vest... Bowie was kind enough to fit a zipper into it for me and now it fits like a glove!  It's always great to have one LBD in your closet that makes you feel amazing.

These shoes were scooped up in Houston at Zara's end of season sale... During the summer, I try to only buy things that will carry into Fall so I can maximize (and maybe rationalize) my purchases.  The scar on my ankle is from my new Miu Miu shoes! Le gasp!

Life as a Tale

Scarf: Otrera (gifted), Top: White & Warren, Shorts: Witchery, Cashmere Kimono: Bowie (gifted), Shoes: DVF, Necklaces: Forever 21, Rings: H&M and NastyGal

I'm always trying to find new ways to wear a scarf as well as keeping my hair under control in the summer.  This scarf braid seems to be the best solution I've found.  I love having long hair but sometimes it can be hard to manage when humidity strikes.

I've also been living in this Bowie cashmere kimono! It is seriously so soft and one of the best pieces to travel with.  I melt whenever I put it on!  I love the Bowie team and every time I wear it I think of Sydney.  They are launching their amazing cashmere line in NY this September so stay tuned for more details on that!

This Hermes ad is so lovely isn't it?  It serves as my inspiration du jour. C'est chic, n'est-ce pas?

PS: sorry for the unruly bra strap..  I realize some people still find a bra strap showing taboo but whatever, it's part of the outfit to me.

Bowie A/W '10

Lindsey Calla

If you remember a few weeks back I visited awesome Aussie designer, Bowie Wong, in Sydney. He invited me to his A/W '10 fashion show at this amazing art gallery space, but sadly I couldn't stick around long enough to attend.. And when I say sadly I mean Qantas flight attendants had to practically drag me down the jetway and on to the plane...So even though I couldn't be there in person, I still want to pass along some photos of the show because he totally rocked it out.
His collection was titled Paranormal Romance which was reflected in the feminine ruffle details contrasted with unconventional materials (cassette tape and tubing!) in a palette of black, white, gold, and pops of blues and purple.
He also debuted his new cashmere collection which is hitting New York this September! I tried on this kimono inspired wrap in his showroom when I was there and pretty much fell in love... This whole collection is so New York
Stay tuned for some more upcoming news on Bowie's NY cashmere debut! Again, here is his website for more info:

This has been such an amazing trip and I've been so lucky to meet so many amazing people along the way. Last week I met with Bowie, a Sydney based designer, who gave me a tour of his show stopping pieces. Bowie also dressed me for last night's events in a beautiful hand sewn sequin floral dress and black evening coat with an exaggerated collar. I'm so in love with the shape of this coat.. It is so elegant, but also fresh and modern and highlights the decolletage perfectly.
I had to take the jacket off because it was soo hot, but it allowed me to show off the great detail of the mini dress and it pretty much created 2 looks in one night.
Thanks so much to Bowie and Winston for their support. Check out their website for more info!
Also, the photos were taken by Yann Audic, a very cool French-Sydney photographer who ran around with me all night trying to grab as much footage as we could! So fun meeting people from all over the world. He also took the shots for the Woolmark award ad campaign.. He is super talented.. Here's one of the photos from the postcards that went in the goody bags.

Jetting back to Sydney tonight! I have a SunSilk event tomorrow at the Opera House and I am SO excited to take pics in front of that iconic building. Hmm what to wear!?
