I am in a total neutral loving mood! I was just talking to the stylist at my fitting yesterday (details to come) about how our eye is so overstimulated with so much color that neutrals feel fresh and pleasing to the eye. Plus, they last long in my wardrobe and are easy to build and layer.
I'm not heading to the beach this weekend so I'm looking forward to catching up in the city.. the weather is going to be amazing!
Have a good weekend!
On a cold winter's day in early March, I braved the freezing temperatures to style some spring outfits for Elle Japan and their advertorial insert for Tiffany's new handbag line! I'm super excited to be featured in the ad along with Olivia Palermo and have been waiting patiently to receive my copy and was rather taken aback by how large the insert is! Super exciting.. Here's some of the info on the outfits:
Left side: Nanette Lepore blouse (via TJ Maxx), Escada pants (also TJ Maxx), Tiffany reversible tote
Right side bottom left: Urban Outfitters hat, Zara top, Cynthia Steffe shorts, Christian Louboutin espadrilles, Tiffany bucket bag
Right side top right: Zara dress, Tiffany bracelet bag, Dolce & Gabbana shoes
The bags are available in the US as well if you are looking to get your hands on one!
Happy Monday! New outfit series coming soon so stay tuned, glosslings!

Not only do I love the burst of color on this dress but the folds just fall so perfectly and almost look sculptural. I noticed that Zara had this dress in a few other colors (bright yellow! pink!) and I secretly want them all and just keep them on rotation all summer. I think it could be my go-to summer look: a bright mini dress paired with nude shoes to maximize leg length.. because in the summer it is all about the legs, right?
Thanks to everyone who came to the Fashion 140 conference yesterday! It was such a blast and I'll be sure to put up some pics of what I wore!

Greetings from New Orleans! I have to say that I already love this town. The culture, the architecture, the southern spirit.... It all comes together to make this place really unique and special. When I walked around the French Quarter I knew that I wanted to wear something super lady-like. It's just a place that makes me want to dress up and play the part of a sweet southern belle.
It was so much fun to walk around in the gorgeous hot weather with Christine, Keiko Lynn and her bf and blogger, Bobby. We nibbled on Beignets at Cafe du Monde, checked out the Mississippi River, and wandered the streets taking pics. And I can't even describe how good the food is here! I've already experienced a to-go cup, which was quite an enjoyable and refreshing experience especially right before a panel lecture.
More to come from the panel last night! Thanks to everyone who came out to chat with us!
Robinson Tote: c/o Tory Burch, Vest & Necklace: Banana Republic, Top: WDNY via TJ Maxx, Pants & Hat: c/o New York & Company, Bracelets: Target Pics: Linda Calla
Apologies for the randomly slow post week this week! I received this amazing tote from Tory Burch and I immediately felt like it could be the perfect bag for my laptop, Nook color, Blackberry, and everything else essential to business and travel. I happened to be in the Princeton area looking at houses with my brother and his wife and I realized that this bag belongs on the Princeton campus. It could be one of the most sophisticated and beautiful campuses I've seen and carrying this bag on my way to Art History class would just feel so scholarly and grown up. It's a perfect fit.
What I absolutely love about the clothing aspect of this outfit is just how affordable everything is! These are all classic pieces that I can reinvent over and over in different outfits and adding this pop of pink brought some color to my face. I must mention these bracelets because they are cheap enough to buy a whole bunch to stack up as opposed to the expensive ones where you can't even buy one without breaking the bank!
I'm switching gears a little and heading out of academia and towards the beaches in San Diego followed by LA and New Orleans so expect some cute Cali cool outfits along the way.

I'm really feeling a super sleek 70s vibe here and another dose of healthy, vibrant color. This is the moment where I would say that investing in an impeccably tailored pant is so necessary but the thing is, I didn't really "invest" because the price was so great. You get the general idea.
It's nice to be back into a normal routine again.. Speaking of getting back into a groove, check out this Elle street snapshot!
Hope you enjoyed the holiday weekend. xo

I'm definitely not letting the brutal weather deter me from taking outfit shots so I figured if I'm going to shoot inside then it has to be in one of the most beautiful places in New York: The New York Public Library. If it's good enough for Carrie to almost get married in then it's good enough to make le blog. Plus, how can I resist some classical architecture? Especially when this Club Monaco skirt has a folded structure to it that reminds me of chiseled fabric on a marble statue. You know, when you walk up to an old statue and the cloak looks almost like it's moving but then you touch it and it's actually structured and carved precisely? That perfectly describes this skirt and my love for it.
Here's the deal lowdown: I lucked out on this scarf because I found it laying on the floor with no tag so the sales guy gave it to me for $4.00. I mean.... and I can't even go there about the deal I got on these shoes. The guy at Bergdorfs who works the shoe sale recognized me from the last time, err.. times I went on a 2nd floor shoe binge. A strange feeling of embarrassment mixed with pride washed over me as I handed over my account number. I swear they were a really good price!
Hat: I think Forever 21, Sunnies: Michael Kors gifted from TJ Maxx preview, Scarf: Macy's, Vest, black knit, striped tee, gloves and leggings: Kmart, Boots: Pucci
So here's the rest of the outfit that I teased about below. Is there really anything else to wear but this when a blizzard hits? I have been happily bouncing around on 2 large pieces of foam (aka: my boots) all over the place and my feet stay super dry. Yesterday was the only exception because I had a shoot where I needed to dress spring/summer-ish and nearly froze my stilettos off.
My favorite part about this outfit is the high/low mixup. I say invest in snow footgear, sunglasses, and a really well built scarf and go low on the layering pieces. Layering really is key and can sometimes be tricky. You can read my thoughts on that topic if you so desire over at Stylesip! I gave them a few of my top tips.
For the rest of the weekend I am going to thaw out, catch up on my Nook reading and hopefully take some shiny new outfit pictures!
Stay dry and stay fly.

I'm so over saying how cold it is so I'm not even going to go there anymore because I'm sure you are bundled up somewhere reading this. I figure if I throw on some chic sunglasses that it will make me feel warmer, like I'm somewhere fabulously tropical. In real life I've actually been crazy busy running laps around the city, up and down the subway steps, lugging bags and trying not to be late to all of my appointments. I've also been layering up like Michelin woman and I swear if I fell down the subway steps I would come out completely unharmed because of all the padding. Guess there's an upside to everything!
I've been wearing this sweater to death because it is perfectly oversized without looking bulky. It has the best shape because I hate when sweaters fit your upper half but then cling around the butt/hip area.. Blech! I also got it for under a $100 which is insane considering it is Vince.
Hope you enjoy the video below! I think I will start adding these to my outfit posts if you guys like them!
I have a really big pants complex and I am really really picky about finding ones that I like and wear often. When I saw these Poleci pants hanging on a rack...in TJ Maxx...at 60 % off ...I didn't even think twice. I've heard about all of the amazing deals you can find at TJ Maxx but I just haven't had a chance to go often, which is part of the strategy when trying to score a good deal there. So imagine my excitement when I found pants that fit all of my critera: loose fitting, cuffable, and still flattering.
Also spotted there: a cropped fur vest (perfect for fall and can now be spotted hanging in my closet), an M Missoni dress for 80 dollars (it had a rip in it but still), and many Alice and Olivia dresses. I highly recommend you make TJ Maxx a regular shopping destination and keep your eyes peeled for well known designers and things that will really last in your closet.
Finding good deals is so thrilling, no?
