Stay Glossy Part II

Top: H&M, Gloss: Rimmel London Stay Glossy in Timeless Allure

Happy Friday!  Another Stay Glossy feature is up on Beauty High!  I chose berries and champagne as my inspiration because what girl doesn't love that combination? ;-)  This wine color is very "of the moment" with all of the oxblood out there and in a gloss it looks very sophisticated and vampy in the best way.   I actually have issues with red lip color because most shades look too pink or too red so the richer colors work a little bit better on my skin tone.  Click to read more beauty tips and also there's a Pinterest contest you can enter!

Also, clearly you can see the mess of a closet behind me.. I'm working on a closet tour video so stay tuned for that!

Hi guys!  I wanted to share this project that I worked on with Beauty High.  They did some great matchmaking and partnered me up with Rimmel's Stay Glossy lip gloss line.... I mean how perfect is that?  I picked out some of my favorite shades from collection and put together some color stories inspired by the glossies (see what I did there?)  Hop on over here to check out more. This is my 1930's mirror that I found treasure hunting in an antique shore near our beach house.  There's something about putting on lip gloss in this mirror, rather than my blah New York bathroom, that always feels extra special.  Have a great weekend!

Dress and shoes: Banana Republic, Jewelry: IPPOLITA

I'm so excited to share a film that I collaborated on with IPPOLITA  for the "Essential Six" ways to wear her works of art!  My very first job out of college was at a PR firm that represented IPPOLITA and I distinctly remember running bags of jewelry up to the jewelry editors at Vogue and sending pieces out to fabulous stylists so they can dress their equally fabulous celebrities and I just completely fell in love with the line.  When they asked me to be a part of the video I couldn't refuse because that experience was all part of the journey to get here and I love IPPOLITA's story.. her upbringing in Florence and Tuscany, her appreciation for art and how she can turn those experiences into something tangible, wearable and devastatingly beautiful.

Here are some glimpses behind the scenes of the shoot at her impeccable Brooklyn brownstone.  Check out the video here and I hope you get some jewelry inspiration!

1st dress: Zara, 2nd: Vena Cava (sample saled), Case: Tibi for Power Support USA

I was happy to find both of these dresses because I've been in such a separates phase and am finally feeling like I need to build back up my dress arsenal.  Both of these can be layered for different seasons which is a big plus for me.

Now on to beauty.  Here's a peek into my beauty cabinet and some products that I love to use.  I have to admit that I tend to spend up on beauty which differs a bit from my outlook on clothing.  It's a mix of both but the products I have spent on, I've never regretted.

Cheat Sheet:

Shu Uemura Essence Absolue: Perfect to smooth out the ends of your hair Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer: I use this on weekends or for days when I just need light coverage.  It leaves a nice dewy finish Make Up Forever HD Foundation: Photographs so well Vapour Organic Beauty Solar Translucent Bronzer: Great for contouring Laura Mercier concealer duo: Great for correcting dark circles Amazing concealer: Lives up to its name for sure.  I love the consistency and everyone I've recommended it to has loved it just as much as I do Hourglass Cheek Stain in Petal- They used this on me for the commercial and I was instantly addicted Josie Maran Argan Oil- Great for everything especially when mixed with your moisturizer Perricone MD High Potency Eye Lift and Vitamin C serum: They come together in a package and actually work. I saw results in mere days Catwalk Your Highness Shine Spray- Doesn't leave hair sticky like hairspray Pantene Restoratives Frizz Control Smoothing Balm: The stylist used this on me for the commercial and it instantly tames.  It's hard to find though.. I had to check 3 Duane Reades before I found one! Redken Rootful 06: Great to use to re-style your hair.  Spray a bit in, blow dry and you can reset your style Olay Complete Moisturizer: Another great drugstore buy that I will always love Smashbox Photo Finish Hydrating Primer: The only primer I've found that doesn't dry out my skin when I put it on. L'Oreal Voluminous Mascara: So good it made me switch from Dior Show

Beauty How-To with Refinery 29!

Taking a break from fashion real quick to talk about some spring/summer beauty trends!  Refinery 29 asked a few of us to pick our favorite runway make up looks and recreate them with Make Up For Ever products, which are very honestly my absolute favorites for photo and video.  Since I wouldn't say I'm an advanced make up expert or artist, I stuck with something fun, fresh, and easy to pull off with just a few simple steps.  Hope you guys enjoy the tutorial!

Faux Fur: H&M, Lip: Make Up Forever #40

I've never really been a big beauty product buyer but lately I've been trying to play around and up my game a little bit.  I barely wear any make up in the summer and once I start losing my tan I always end up wearing more as the winter goes on.  It just bothers me that make up can be so expensive!

This orangey color has been my favorite lately because it's a change from plain old red...and finding the right color red can always be tricky.  I also like playing around with beauty pictures because it means you get to pick out outfits with lots of texture and interesting necklines.  I'll take any excuse to throw on some faux fur!
