All The Feels

Healthy: the condition of being sound in body, mind, or spirit

Let’s all take a second to realize that this is the definition of “healthy” in the dictionary. It’s not the byproduct of being skinny or characteristic of a person who drinks the most matcha lattes. Healthy is what happens when you filter everything down to what makes you the most content. Everyone’s “happy and healthy” is different, but for me, it’s become about simplicity and harmony.  It’s taken me a really long time to realize that simplicity is the key to contentment. Maybe it’s the Big Easy rubbing off on me, but I just want to be easygoing and relaxed.  I only want to surround myself with things that don’t ruffle my feathers but rather let me shine confidently.  Those internal feelings have started to reflect on the outside.  I want to put something on my body that just feels good.

All of these feelings have led me to partner with Lou & Grey, a brand that is the epitome of looking good and feeling good. Their new Spring campaign, All the Feels, is about the things that make us feel happy and confident in our own simple way: a cup of coffee in the morning, sleeping in and skipping yoga, maybe getting up and doing yoga. Whatever. No one is judging here!

For me it’s embracing my Cancer sign and being home where I’ve tried to model my bed to look like a hotel cabana bed nestled on the jungle beach (because, why not?), and actually taking my bike out and sitting under the Spanish moss reading ancient Indian classics with my fiancé.  I collect tea from the places that I travel and love reading about plant medicine.  For a long time, the New York in me asked: Why are you doing these simple things? How does this advance your success?  Now, I say, these simple things help me create the time, space, and creativity to define success on my own terms.

Simplicity can be simple. Aesthetically speaking, it’s the joy of the softest, coziest tee and joggers in gorgeous neutrals. No surprise that I chose these things. I can travel in them, I can lounge in them, I can run errands in them. It’s just how I want to dress in today’s overstimulated, overcomplicated world. When everything else feels so ridiculously oversaturated, I just want one thing to be constant.

The copped tee is a must because it hits right on the perfect, most-flattering spot on the waist. The racerback tee feels like butter and slouches perfectly. The joggers are equally as soft and stop at the perfect spot on my ankles. I love texture so the cardigan offers perfect ventilation coolness/warmth for tropical living temperatures. I wish I could let you feel these things over the internet because everything is so, so comfy.

I’ll be in Chicago with Lou & Grey for a wellness panel at one of their stores. It starts at 7 p.m. at 3442 N Southport Ave., Chicago, IL 60657. Would love to meet you and catch up if you’re in town! Information here!

Hope to see you there!
